It’s onerous to search out educated folks on this subject, but you sound like you recognize what you’re speaking about! Thanks

Appreciating the time and effort you put into your site and in depth information you offer. It's good to come across a blog every once in a while that isn't the same outdated rehashed information. Fantastic read! I've bookmarked your site and I'm including your RSS feeds to my Google account.

"Thanks for your valid points LinkMunki.

Deleting cookies definitely does present an obstacle for affiliate marketing and behavioural retargeting. These types of marketing rely on, as you say, 'computers recording every bit of information about us', and as soon as people start to delete cookies, it won't work.

It's all about personal choice. I don't personally delete cookies because I don't mind my computer storing information about me. If I'm going to be served ads whilst I check my email, I would rather they were ones relevant to me, though I can appreciate that others might feel it's an invasion of privacy.

It could be that more and more people will delete their cookies in future, but the affiliate world is prepared for this. Flash cookies can be used which are stored in a different location to text cookies, and these ones cannot easily be deleted. Someone like yourself might find a way around this though!"

Thanks

This is all very well, but my browser automagically deletes all cookies and history as soon as you leave the site.

Therefore I have no history, so it falls down. More and more of us allow computers to just record every bit of information about us as & when they like.
